If XpertEye cannot access your camera or microphone, follow these steps to resolve the issue:
1. Test your camera
- Ensure your webcam is correctly connected and functioning.
- If the camera works normally, close the tab and proceed to the next step.
2. Check permissions in XpertEye
- When you first run XpertEye, it requests access to your camera and microphone. If you are unsure of your choice:
- Proceed to Step 3 if you suspect permissions were denied.
- Proceed to Step 4 if you know permissions were granted.
3. Grant permissions in Chrome
- Open Chrome settings:
- Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner and select Settings.
- Under Privacy and Security, select Content Settings.
- Check the Camera and Microphone sections:
- Ensure XpertEye is listed under Allow.
- If XpertEye is listed under Block, click the trash can icon to remove it, restart the browser, and grant permission when prompted.
4. Check for conflicting applications
- Ensure no other video-conferencing applications are running, as they may block access to your camera or microphone.
- Close these applications and restart XpertEye.
- If the problem persists, proceed to the next step.
5. Check antivirus or security settings
- Antivirus software or IT security measures may block XpertEye’s access.
- Review your antivirus settings or consult your IT department to ensure XpertEye is permitted to access the camera and microphone.
- If no security tools are blocking access, proceed to the next step.
